The only time we went to dinner there was with two other couples on a Saturday night. The food was not to my liking and the portions were very small for the large price they charge. Just mediocre Italian food, nothing special. I can cook a whole lot better than them!
Atmosphere
Oh my, is all I can say. I have never been in a room with such a bunch of phony stuck-up-snobs, thinking that they are Gods gift to creation. All the ass kissing that was going on to certain tables by the wait staff was making me want to throw up!
I also did not like the fact that the tables were so close together. Unfortunately, the table next to us had children with them and I guess they were never taught any manners. The kids ran around, bumping into my chair the whole time and the parents just made believe that they weren't there. True snobs, no wonder why kids are so disrespectful! Look at the parents. So I was NOT happy. I think that it is the managers obligation to confront the guests and ask them to stop. But the whole staff just ignored it...oh well.
Service
As for our service, our waiter was a snob too! We didn't decide on what we wanted fast enough for him so he gave us an attitude. I guess we weren't one of the regulars, so we were treated like crap!
Any time we asked for another drink it was a problem too. I guess he wasn't interested in hiking up our bill with alcoholic drinks and get a better chance at a larger tip. His loss, since I work for tips too! His loss is all I can say!
Value
Portions were too small. A full order has three pieces of chicken! Even if we were four people, there wouldn't be enough to have a piece each! Not good business, that is for sure.
Overall
As I stated above, we went to dinner there just that one and only time.
I recently was given a gift certificate to Matteo's. I am happy to say that my husband and I went there for lunch the other day and we were pleasantly surprised to have a good lunch. Maybe it was because it was empty and it was just us two. The food was delicious, the fried zucchini was so crisp, and we split salad and Chicken Marsala that was very good. Even better was that the waiter was very nice and pleasant. So, would I ever go back there for diner? Absolutely NOT. Would I ever go for lunch? Absolutely YES
