The food is always consistent and served in large portions. If you like heat, Big Daddy's can bring it! I like that the menu is always changing and they offer a great variety. Been going there for a long time [about 12 years] and we have never gotten a bad meal.
Atmosphere
It's on the loud side, but it's a happening place. The decor is like New Orleans restaurants.
Service
The staff is very friendly and makes you feel comfortable.
Value
How do you rate value? For me if the meal is great then I got my money's worth. I always go home with a doggy bag. Huge portions!
Overall
One of my favorites.

Food
The food is great! I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. The food is consistently great. The menu changes daily (which is so great!) but many things are staples which you can get every day. The ribs are incredible. So is the Creole Jambalaya. The is a different type of gumbo all the time. The corn bread is delicious. The peanut butter and jelly pie is to die for. The only thing I think I have had here that I didn't love were the hush puppies which were much too heavy.
Atmosphere
Big Daddy's is a little bit of a dive but it's festive with lots of posters on the walls from Jazz Festivals in New Orleans. It's dark, but not moody. There are beads hanging all over. You drink water out of old glass jars. There are always lots of people. It's typically quite busy and there is a lot of activity.
Service
There's usually a wait, especially on Saturday nights, but there is a bar with an area to wait to be seated. Service is good. They have a lot of staff - runners and waitresses - so the service is very good. One time I didn't like my drink and the waitress took it away and brought me something else without issue. Staff is friendly, though a little aloof.
Value
The portions of food are very big and we always take home leftovers.
Overall
They don't take reservations so it's better to go at off hours - such as 6:00pm on Saturday instead of 7:00pm. The food is well worth coming and returning many times over.

Food
The food at Big Daddy's is very good. We ordered 3 appetizers - The Gold Coast Spaghetti, Crawfish Hushpuppies and Luther's Croquettes. The Crawfish Hushpuppies and Luther's Croquettes are a must. They were great! For dinner we shared The Big Pig Out (cornbread, BBQ beans and slaw) and a side-order of mac 'n' cheese. It included a generous serving of Pulled Pork, Sliced BBQ Brisket, BBQ Chicken and Ribs. The BBQ Chicken and Ribs fell right of the bones. It was all delicious.
Atmosphere
It is extremely LOUD. Very noisy. You walk into the bar area upon entering. It is clean and was filled with lots of people. They serve great chips and unusual salsa at the bar. All I can really say about the atmosphere was that it was loud.
Service
The staff was wonderful. We had to wait an hour and the hostess doesn't take names so it was very interesting trying to figure out how she remembered who came in when. Once seated the waitress came over quickly and took our drink orders and then came back and took our food order. Appetizers came out quickly and they were hot and delicious. Although the restaurant was crowded, she came by the table a few times to make sure we were good. Whenever, we asked for something (another drink, napkins, etc) it came quick. Even though the restaurant was crowded and they had people waiting for tables our waitress did not make us feel rushed.
Value
The portions were good for the price. The appetizers range from $4.00 -$11.00. The dinners range from $14.95 to $26.00. The desserts range from $ 400 -$6.00
Overall
It was very hard to give this restaurant a 7 because the food was so good. The noise level was so loud and irritating that it brought down the overall rating of this restaurant. They don't take reservations. We will definitely go back but maybe a little earlier in the day.

Food
Food is always great. Portions are LARGE. They have a blackboard menu that changes daily. Go to www.bigdaddysny.com after 3 PM to see that day's menu. The desserts are not as spectacular as the Apps & Entrees though. They have a top notch bar serving POTENT drinks. The standard is the hurricane which is rum and hurricane mix (sort of like a red fruit punch) or the DELUXE hurricane for about a dollar more, where you get FOUR rums and a lot less of the mix. The deluxe packs a big wallop. They have a lot of signature drinks too long to list here.
Atmosphere
The decor quite frankly is nothing to look at. On the other hand it is very festive, which is what the owners are looking for.
A definite New Orleans Cajun theme.
Service
Wait staff is great. You never wait too long for them to come over and tell you the menu. Food comes as quickly as possible (which is not very long). If you need another drink you can get it fast.
Value
You get HUGE portions. If you order their pasta dish you are going to get this gigantic bowl of pasta filled with meats and fish. My wife and I have SHARED this one and STILL had to bring some home for lunch.
Beware however if the waitress/waiter says it is HOT...it is HOT(SPICY)!
Overall
Well worth the price. LONG waits on the weekends (Fri & Sat.)
If you hate to wait, weekdays are not as bad and summertime is even less.
Fall and Winter Fridays & Saturdays the wait can be 2 plus hours some nights. But after 2 or 3 hurricanes you will not care about the wait.
Also, there's not a lot of seating in the bar area. Maybe 10(?) seats at the bar and a few more by a counter in the back.
Once you go once you WILL go back again.

Food
The food is excellent, always fresh with menu changes daily. The food is very spicy but also very flavorful. Portions are huge. Warning: When they say spicy, they mean spicy! Excellent bar menu as well.
Atmosphere
Small but festive, usually very lively and makes you feel like you're at Mardi Gras in New Orleans. You even get beads with your check.
Service
The service is good, servers are polite and helpful. There is usually a wait to be seated. There's a shop to buy hot sauces, etc. next door, which is nice to browse but not overly entertaining. They only take resevations for large parties so you can be waiting a while. Once seated, the staff is attentive and pleasant.
Value
Potions are huge, prices are reaonable for the quality and quantity. The only credit card accepted is American Express.
Overall
Remember to bring cash or Amex, be prepared to wait during prime dinner hours but also be prepared to have a great, huge meal in a wonderful atmosphere, served by great staff.
