After years of celebrating Mother's Day, Christenings and retirements in a relaxing atmosphere with good food, my family's last Mother's day experience was the most distasteful I have ever experienced at a restaurant. We, and other patrons were rudely ushered out without finishing our meals. The main emphasis seemed to be "speedy in and speedy out" without regard to customer comfort and satisfaction. There were additional complaints from many other parties as we exited, and a subsequent letter to the management was neither acknowledged or responded to. Needless to say, we have not returned, nor will we in the future.
Value
Excellent food, poor dining experience.

Food
Since 2001, we used to come here a few times a year and the food was always above-average. About 3 years ago, it started to go downhill. Sometimes it's pretty good, sometimes it's lousy. Totally inconsistent. Still, when my friend came from out of town, we would always stop in for the Seafood Bisque and the Crab Cakes. In Sept. 2009 the food was "eh" but the service was so awful we won't ever be back.
Atmosphere
Very kitschy, full of plastic flowers and flowered wallpaper, Michael's Craft store-type stuff that housewives used to think was "country" in the 1980s. But we used to be able to overlook it when the food and service was OK. The bathrooms are always dirty and have "Suave" hand lotion.
Service
We had an anniversary dinner ruined by the owner and the owner's wife. When other websites and reviewers say the owner is rude and abrasive--believe it. At our anniversary dinner two years ago, the waitress asked how everything was. We didn't complain, but we said the steak was overcooked, the sauce on the fish was too salty, etc. The waitress looked stricken. A few minutes later the owner's wife (a middle aged blonde with a nasty expression) came over and started to raise her voice to us that everything was prepared perfectly and we didn't know what we were talking about. I should never have gone back, but in Sept. 2009 my out of town friend wanted to have our "traditional meal" when she visits. It took a long time to get menus, drinks, etc. Then the waitress brought our entrees while we were still eating our bisque, shoved stuff around on the table, put the plates down and left. That was totally the last visit.
Value
Overpriced, inconsistent, mediocre food. Dated decor, lots of plastic flowers and decoration. Dirty bathrooms. A wait staff apparently terrified to take complaints to the chef or management.. And if you complain or even just ask an innocent question, the nasty owner or the owner's nasty wife will make an appearance table-side and embarrass or humiliate you into leaving. A truly negative place.
Overall
Stay away.

Food
The food was basically the same as if you had gone to a cafeteria…cafeteria food that is average. I have made this decision not based on one seating. This was the second time I have eaten here. The first time the food was pretty bad so I gave it a second chance. There will be no third!
Atmosphere
The decor was nice but could definitely use some updating.
Service
Service here is pretty bad. On both of my visits I received dirty silverware. When I brought this last episode to the attention of my waitress she politely apologized, took the dirty fork to the wait station and I watched her wipe it off with a wet towel and return it to me. When I complained she told me that the dried food was just dust. But, if I wanted a new fork it would be a bit because the dishwasher was backed up...C'mon
Value
There is not much value in a bad meal with dirty silverware.
Overall
Enough said. Not worth the ride. Guess it only exists because it's the only game in town out that way.

Atmosphere
The tables were very close together. We had to walk around into another room and back into the room to get to our table.
Service
The service was very poor, taking over 40 minutes to get a drink. I asked to speak to the manager. The manager/owner came to the table and very rudely asked us to leave. Apparently the waitress went back to the owner crying. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. In front of a six year old the owner used vulgar language.
Value
For the price of the meals I would expect not to look like an alien when asking for bottled water.
Overall
I think the staff should go to an anger managment class...including the owner.

Service
I would not recommend this place to someone that I hate. The food is barely OK and the service is snotty. When you go to this place, the people who work there act like you are a bother to them. Completely disgusted with my experience at this overrated, over priced, sorry excuse for a restaurant. When I asked to speak with the owner, he was very abrasive. I would rather eat rabbit droppings than support a business run by completely rude people.

Food
We had to come back for the seafood bisque and the cajun yellowfish tuna bites - they are both outstanding. The bisque has almost a buttery flavor and and not a hint of flour that usually overpowers some restaurant bisques. It was just thick enough to be creamy and is definitely a great start to the meal.
Next came the cajun yellowfin tuna bites which were spiced and cooked to perfection - rare - but also quite tasty - almost like a filet mignon - tender and not fishy tasting at all. For our lunch entree we enjoyed the flounder filet sandwich on a toasted roll with tomato and onion and a little mayo. Tasty but not out of the ordinary for a nice restaurant.
My date had the blackened chicken and shrimp salad plate which was also very tasty with a hint of lemon. Both lunches were more than ample servings and we brought home half our sandwich and salad. On previous visits we had the crab cakes which also had plenty of crabmeat and also the salmon wrap which was also very tasty with the cucumber sauce. So far we have only had lunch there but look forward to trying dinner soon.
Atmosphere
A very pleasant atmosphere. Quiet during the lunches we have enjoyed and not stufffy at all. Plenty of seating, a fireplace and the tables are not situated on top of each other. More than enough room to move your chair out and relax a bit.
Service
The service was excellent. We were seated right away and our maitre'd explained the specials as the bus boy brought us our water and bread basket. Nice fresh bread and muffins. Our waitress was very nice and came back for our order as soon as we put our menus down. They have another nice young lady who brought out each course (she was our waitress last time we came) and she described how each meal was prepared. Very friendly. There was only a few minutes between our finishing a course and when the next course came. We definitely had no complaints. It was a very nice meal though we had no room for dessert.
Value
Definitely a value for the amount of delicious food.
Overall
We have only enjoyed their lunches because the restaurant is more than an hour from our home but look forward to trying the dinners once the warm weather comes.
