• "A Little Italy institution comes to East Meadow with the opening of Puglia of Little Italy, a restaurant that's dishing up shrimp scampi and fettucini Alfredo. Owner Greg Garofalo, also a partner at the 90-year-old Little Italy restaurant, said that the Long Island place is more "white tablecloth" than the Manhattan trattoria. The menus at both places differ, too, although they have a few items in common, among them the "house" calamari and rice balls. Garofalo said that most Wednesday to Sunday evenings, there's live entertainment, everything "from Sinatra to Streisand." - Newsday
